Price of air conditioning inspection
The cost of an air conditioning leak test depends mainly on the size of the system and the number of units, not on a flat rate. As a guide, for smaller systems it starts at 1 200 Kč, while for larger commercial installations it can be significantly higher.
Indicative prices by system type
- Split (1 + 1 unit)
- 1 500 - 2 800 Kč
- Leak test and evaporator cleaning
- Multisplit (2-4 indoor units)
- 2 500 - 4 500 Kč
- typical for an apartment, office or small business premises
- VRF system
- 8 000 - 25 000 Kč
- price per compressor and depending on circuit length
- Annual service contract
- from 1 200 Kč / year
- For smaller systems, it is usually about 20% cheaper than call-outs.

What influences the price most
- System size and number of units
Each additional indoor unit requires further measurement and inspection of connections.
- Availability of cooling circuit
Hard-to-reach outdoor units: roof, façade, platform: increase the call-out charge.
- Region and distance
Transport of equipment is charged separately depending on the region.
- Urgency
An emergency call-out within hours due to suspected leaks is usually more expensive than a scheduled annual inspection.
Combining leak testing and routine maintenance into a single annual service contract is usually cheaper than ordering ad-hoc call-outs. We discuss the difference between inspection and servicing in our article. How refrigerant leak detection is carried out.
What to prepare before contacting a technician
The more precise information you provide to the technician in advance, the faster you will receive a realistic price instead of a wide range. It pays to have the type and number of units (how many indoor, how many outdoor), the approximate age of the installation, details on whether the outdoor unit is easily accessible from ground level or requires a platform or work at height, and an indicative address or region for transport purposes. For businesses, it is also calculated how many separate cooling circuits the building has, each circuit is assessed and invoiced separately. When you send these details directly in your request, the technician can estimate the price more accurately before travelling and does not need to calculate on site.
One-off inspection or annual contract
For households where there is no legal obligation for regular air-conditioning inspections, it makes sense to order an inspection on an ad-hoc basis, perhaps once every few years or if a leak is suspected. For businesses and operators subject to the obligation under Regulation (EU) 2024/573, an annual service contract is more advantageous: the inspection date will not be forgotten, equipment records are kept up to date, and any site visit required upon detection of a leak is typically faster as it is included in the contract price. When the obligation arises and how it is calculated, we discuss in the article. When is air conditioning inspection mandatory.
Why price lists are always indicative only
The exact price is confirmed only by a specific certified technician after determining the system type, number of units and installation condition. The prices listed above are indicative and exclude VAT. You will receive the final offer only after submitting your request, when we will send you offers from 2-3 vetted technicians in your region within 24 hours. Offers differ mainly according to the region and technician availability for the given date, so it pays to compare several offers at once, not just the first one you receive.
When a service call costs the most
The largest deviation from the indicative price usually occurs with emergency call-outs, when the air conditioner stops cooling in summer and a technician is needed urgently, outside the scheduled queue. Similarly, inspections of older installations become more expensive, as the technician must first identify the model and exact refrigerant quantity due to missing service documentation or an illegible manufacturer's label. In contrast, inspections of new and well-documented systems are completed quickly and without additional work, so the total price remains closer to the lower end of the stated ranges. Therefore, comparing the cheapest and most expensive offers is worthwhile. It pays to wait for 2-3 quotes rather than ordering the first one you receive.
